O ex-senador da República, Armando Monteiro Neto, filiado ao Podemos, concedeu entrevista ao programa ‘Cidade em Foco’, da Rede Pernambuco de Rádios (RPR) e ao Blog do Alberes Xavier. Afastado das disputas eleitorais desde o ano de 2018, quando concorreu ao cargo de governador do estado pelo PTB, ele disse que tem dedicado seu tempo a atividades privadas e a sua família.
“Meu pai me ensinou que é possível fazer política sem exercer mandato, participar do debate de temas de interesses do estado, mesmo estando sem um mandato eletivo”, disse ele, acrescentando que frequentemente recebe em seu escritório, em Recife, lideranças e amigos do meio político pernambucano.
Armando Monteiro falou também sobre a gestão da governadora Raquel Lyra, do PSDB. “Não apenas torço pelo sucesso do governo Raquel, mas sempre que posso faço por onde ajudar no sucesso do seu governo”, disse ele, frisando que todas as vezes que foi acionado pela governadora para opinar ou mesmo para dar-lhe algum conselho, esteve sempre a disposição.
Quanto ao futuro da gestão da tucana, Armando cravou que ela “é digna da confiança do povo de Pernambuco”. “Reconheço na governadora atributos indispensáveis para governar Pernambuco, como, ética, dedicação e principalmente, uma capacidade extraordinária de trabalho. Ela enfrentou algumas dificuldades no começo de sua gestão pelo fato de ter tido que reestruturar a máquina pública do estado”.
