Raquel Lyra apresenta panorama do sistema penitenciário para secretário do Ministério da Justiça

Na reunião semanal do Juntos pela Segurança, a governadora Raquel Lyra discutiu com o secretário nacional de Políticas Penais, André Garcia, as iniciativas em andamento para melhorar o sistema penitenciário do Estado. O encontro contou com a participação da vice-governadora Priscila Krause. Para expandir a capacidade carcerária, o Governo de Pernambuco destinou um orçamento de R$ 105 milhões para 2024.

Durante a reunião, a governadora destacou a nomeação de 416 policiais penais realizada no ano passado, além dos novos concursos em andamento para diversas corporações. O certame da Polícia Civil, por exemplo, teve seu número de vagas dobrado, passando de 445 para 890, enquanto a Polícia Militar convocará 5.250 novos agentes, e a Polícia Científica abrirá concurso ainda este ano.

A governadora ressaltou a importância da parceria com o Ministério da Justiça para aprimorar o sistema penitenciário estadual, agradecendo o apoio do secretário André Garcia. Por sua vez, Garcia reforçou o compromisso do Governo Federal em colaborar com equipamentos de segurança pública, como aparelhos de raio-x, bodycams e câmeras de videomonitoramento.

O secretário estadual de Defesa Social, Alessandro Carvalho, destacou a troca de experiências durante a reunião e enfatizou os investimentos em segurança pública para desmantelar grupos criminosos e prevenir a ocorrência de novos delitos originados dentro das unidades prisionais.

Além da governadora e do secretário André Garcia, estiveram presentes na reunião representantes da segurança pública do Estado, incluindo o secretário de Planejamento, Gestão e Desenvolvimento Regional, Fabrício Marques, o comandante da Polícia Militar de Pernambuco, coronel Ivanildo Torres, e o comandante-geral do Corpo de Bombeiros Militar, coronel Luciano Alves.
