A bancada do Partido Social Democrático (PSD) decidiu nesta quarta-feira (13) retirar a candidatura do deputado Antonio Brito (BA) à presidência da Câmara e apoiar o nome de Hugo Motta (Republicanos-PB) para a sucessão de Arthur Lira (PP-AL).
A jornalistas, Antonio Brito disse que o pedido de retirada de candidatura partiu dele mesmo. A medida foi tomada, segundo o parlamentar, para possibilitar o apoio do PSD à candidatura de Motta, favorito na disputa.
“A bancada decidiu, com proposta minha retirar a candidatura a presidente da Câmara, para que nos possamos dar sequência ao processo que já ocorre com as demais lideranças da casa e apoiar a candidatura de Hugo Motta à presidência da casa. Essa é a decisão da bancada do PSD, foi um aposição majoritária da bancada”, declarou.
Brito fez o anúncio ao lado de Gilberto Kassab, presidente nacional do PSD, partido que tem 44 deputados.
Motta já recebeu o apoio de PP, Republicanos, PL, PT, PCdoB, PV, PRD, Rede, Solidariedade, Cidadania, PSDB, PSB, PDT, MDB, Podemos e, agora, PSD. Juntas, as siglas somam 429 parlamentares. Para ser eleito presidente da Câmara em primeiro turno, Motta precisa de 257 votos.
