Projeto de lei que garante água potável nas escolas é aprovado na Câmara

O Projeto de Lei 5696/2023, que tem como objetivo garantir o acesso à água potável em escolas de todo o Brasil, foi aprovado no plenário da Câmara dos Deputados. A iniciativa, proposta pelo Gabinete Compartilhado, busca assegurar a oferta de água potável e a construção de infraestrutura adequada para o acesso e permanência dos estudantes nas instituições de ensino. O projeto beneficiará cerca de 1,2 milhão de alunos que frequentam mais de sete mil escolas públicas no país que ainda não possuem acesso à água.

O deputado federal Pedro Campos, um dos autores do projeto, comemorou a aprovação da matéria e ressaltou a importância de garantir condições dignas às crianças que estudam nessas escolas. Ele destacou a necessidade de os alunos terem acesso a banheiros e poderem lavar as mãos com água potável. Pedro também celebrou a aprovação de sua emenda, que permitirá o uso dos recursos financeiros do projeto em situações emergenciais, como a Operação Carro-Pipa, que abastece as escolas com água por meio de carros-pipa, cisternas, captação de água da chuva e perfuração de poços.

Além de garantir o acesso à água tratada e potável em todas as escolas públicas, o projeto também visa promover a execução de infraestrutura de saneamento básico, direcionando recursos públicos para as instalações adequadas ao pleno funcionamento das instituições de ensino.

A deputada Duda Salabert, autora do projeto, comemorou a aprovação e ressaltou que o acesso à água é essencial para pensar em um país melhor. Ela destacou a necessidade de universalizar o acesso à água na rede pública, enfatizando que o projeto representa um passo importante nessa direção.

Amom Mandel, deputado federal, apontou que, apesar de o Amazonas ter a maior bacia hidrográfica do planeta, ainda há desigualdade na distribuição de água. Ele destacou que o projeto é uma oportunidade para que os gestores municipais ofereçam dignidade às crianças da região.

A matéria será encaminhada para o Senado Federal, onde contará com o apoio do senador Alessandro Vieira. Ele ressaltou a importância do projeto para a hidratação adequada dos alunos, contribuindo para o aprendizado, saúde e prevenção de doenças. O senador reforçou o compromisso em trabalhar pela rápida tramitação do projeto no Senado.

O Gabinete Compartilhado é formado pelo senador Alessandro Vieira e pelos deputados federais Amom Mandel, Camila Jara, Duarte Jr., Duda Salabert, Pedro Campos e Tabata Amaral.
