A Prefeitura de Nazaré da Mata, na Zona da Mata Norte, deu início à primeira etapa do Levantamento de Índice Rápido do Aedes aegypti (LIRAa) de 2025. A ação, promovida pela Secretaria Municipal de Saúde (SMS), será realizada até o dia 14 de janeiro e abrange todos os bairros e a zona rural do município, com o objetivo de identificar a incidência do mosquito transmissor da dengue, zika e chikungunya.
Durante o período, 13 fiscais de epidemiologia, realizam visitas domiciliares das 8h às 12h. O trabalho consiste em inspecionar locais com potencial para se tornarem criadouros do mosquito, como reservatórios de água, vasos de planta, ralos, terrenos baldios e pneus.
De acordo com o coordenador do Programa Municipal de Combate ao Aedes, Renildo Silva, “o processo inclui etapas de inspeção, coleta e eliminação de focos. Após a confirmação de que são larvas do Aedes aegypti, esses dados são inseridos no índice de infestação. Além disso, eliminamos os focos para interromper o ciclo de reprodução do mosquito”, explica.
A secretária de Saúde, Márcia Almeida, ressaltou a relevância do levantamento para o planejamento das ações de saúde pública. “O LIRAa é uma ferramenta essencial para orientar as estratégias de combate ao mosquito. Com base nos dados coletados, podemos planejar de forma eficiente as medidas de controle e prevenção”, afirmou.
O resultado do levantamento será encaminhado à Secretaria Estadual de Saúde de Pernambuco e à II Gerência Regional de Saúde (II Geres), responsáveis por consolidar e divulgar os dados. A Prefeitura reforça que o levantamento será realizado a cada dois meses ao longo do ano, garantindo a continuidade das ações de combate ao Aedes aegypti no município.
