Prefeito de Carpina faz comentários polêmicos sobre pré-candidata à prefeitura

Durante uma inauguração no último sábado (6), o prefeito de Carpina, na Mata Norte, Manuel Botafogo, gerou controvérsia ao fazer comentários considerados misóginos e machistas em relação à pré-candidata à prefeitura da cidade, Eduarda Gouveia.

As declarações de Botafogo diminuíram a capacidade de Eduarda Gouveia e focaram em seus atributos físicos, levantando críticas sobre a forma como as mulheres são tratadas na política. “Carpina não precisa de uma mulher bonita, pois têm mulheres mais bonitas do que tu. Uma ‘mulé’ que veio de Recife e que é dona de bodega“, afirmou o prefeito durante o evento.

As declarações foram recebidas com indignação por parte da população, incluindo Luciana Lourdes, estudante de enfermagem, que destacou a importância do respeito às mulheres na sociedade. “Como mulher, a gente se sente atacada cada vez que ouvimos falas como essa. É como se fosse com a gente. Nós somos sempre desvalorizadas em nossa capacidade e inteligência e julgadas apenas pela nossa aparência. Quando ouvi as falas, eu não acreditei. Nós merecemos respeito“, comentou Luciana.

As críticas levantaram a discussão sobre o tratamento das mulheres na política e a necessidade de mudanças para garantir igualdade de oportunidades e respeito à capacidade das mulheres de governar.
