Movimentação do Porto do Recife cresce 34%

A movimentação do Porto do Recife segue em ritmo intenso em 2024. De janeiro à outubro, o terminal portuário cresceu 34% nas suas movimentações, quando comparado com o mesmo período de 2023. No ano, já são mais de 1,3 milhão de toneladas movimentadas contra 1,03 milhão registrado entre janeiro e outubro do ano passado. Em outubro, foram movimentadas 208.827 toneladas, 10% a mais que outubro de 2023. O açúcar foi o grande protagonista para o crescimento nas movimentações de cargas em geral e granéis sólidos.

Na carga de granéis sólidos, a movimentação de açúcar, em outubro, dobrou em relação ao mesmo período do ano passado, saltando de 44.891 mil toneladas movimentadas para 92.156 mil. Em seguida veio a movimentação da barrilha, malte e trigo.

“Esses números reforçam o papel estratégico do Porto do Recife no desenvolvimento econômico da nossa região, reafirmando o nosso compromisso com a eficiência e com a expansão sustentável das nossas operações. Continuaremos a trabalhar para atrair novos investimentos e novas cargas, fortalecendo ainda mais essa trajetória de crescimento”, destacou o presidente do Porto do Recife, Delmiro Gouveia.

Somado aos números favoráveis, o terminal portuário, vinculado a Secretaria de Desenvolvimento Econômico (SDEC), se prepara para o aporte de novos investimentos para os próximos meses após os arrendamentos dos terminais REC08, REC09 e REC10, que movimentarão granéis sólidos e cargas gerais. A previsão é que mais de R$ 50 milhões sejam investidos nos novos terminais, gerando mais emprego e renda.

“Esse aumento na movimentação mostra a recuperação do terminal como importante equipamento para o comércio exterior e a economia de Pernambuco. Além desse grande aumento na carga de açúcar, produto tradicional e importante de nossa pauta de exportação; temos também o acréscimo com outros produtos. Para 2025, com novos investimentos, vamos nos consolidar como o maior terminal de movimentação de malte e cevada do país, com a chegada da operação de um terminal com foco na carga destinada ao polo cervejeiro”, ressaltou o secretário-executivo de atração de investimentos da SDEC, Maurício Laranjeira.
