Governo de Pernambuco triplica número de cozinhas comunitárias com inauguração de nova unidade em Dormentes, no Sertão do São Francisco

O Governo de Pernambuco atingiu, nesta quinta-feira (14), um importante marco na luta contra a fome com a inauguração da Cozinha Comunitária Bartolomeu Teotônio de Macedo, em Dormentes, no Sertão do São Francisco. Com a unidade, o Governo Raquel Lyra triplica o número de cozinhas comunitárias inauguradas, sendo esta a 71ª cozinha entregue em 2024 e a 165ª em funcionamento.

Em janeiro de 2023 o Estado contava com apenas 55 unidades em operação. “O combate à fome sempre será uma prioridade do nosso governo, não só no discurso, mas também na prática. Já entregamos 110 cozinhas que hoje entregam mais de 700 mil refeições por mês, ao mesmo tempo em que triplicamos o volume de recursos repassados aos municípios para assistência social. Apenas em 2024 vai superar os R$ 80 milhões”, ressaltou a governadora Raquel Lyra.

O espaço servirá 200 almoços diários de segunda a sexta-feira. São beneficiadas pessoas em situação de vulnerabilidade social e insegurança alimentar, cadastradas pelos Centros de Referência em Assistência Social (CRAS) e Centros de Referência Especializado em Assistência Social (CREAS) locais. Com a inauguração, passam a ser entregues 726 mil refeições mensais através das cozinhas.

“Até o final do ano, o Governo de Pernambuco tem como meta ultrapassar o número de 200 cozinhas comunitárias. Isso é um reflexo do compromisso contínuo com o combate à fome e a promoção da segurança alimentar e nutricional em todo o Estado”, detalhou o secretário de Assistência Social, Combate à Fome e Políticas sobre Drogas, Carlos Braga.

As cozinhas comunitárias integram o Programa Bom Prato, administrado pela Secretaria de Assistência Social, Combate à Fome e Políticas sobre Drogas (SAS), por meio de sua Secretaria Executiva de Combate à Fome (SECOF). A implementação de cada unidade é realizada em parceria com os municípios, que recebem R$ 50 mil de investimento estadual para a implantação e R$ 20 mil mensais para manutenção. O Estado garante, ainda, monitoramento e apoio técnico constante para assegurar a qualidade das refeições.
