Ex-Juntas, Jô Cavalcanti lança pré-candidatura a vereadora em evento em Cozinha Solidária do MTST

Primeira sem-teto e camelô a ter um mandato legislativo no Brasil, Jô Cavalcanti é militante dos movimentos sociais há mais de 10 anos e lança, nesta quarta (5), sua pré-candidatura a vereadora do Recife, pelo PSOL-PE. O evento acontece na Cozinha Solidária do Movimento dos Trabalhadores Sem Teto de Pernambuco (MTST-PE) na Vila Santa Luzia, Torre, a partir das 19h, e é aberto ao público.

Nascida e criada no Morro da Conceição, Zona Norte da cidade, Jô foi codeputada pela mandata coletiva das Juntas, de 2019 a 2022. Sua pré-candidatura à vereança mostra o comprometimento do partido ao qual é filiada com a representatividade efetiva de mulheres negras em espaços de poder e decisão.

“Eu sempre vivi no Recife, sei o que é o Recife real. Precisamos pensar uma cidade inclusiva, uma cidade que abrace e acolha a diversidade das pessoas que nela moram, contemplando a pluralidade de pautas.  O Recife que desejamos é bom para mães, para crianças, para mulheres, para pessoas negras, para pessoas LGBTQIA+, para pessoas com deficiência, para trabalhadores e trabalhadoras, ou seja, é bom para todo mundo”, defende Jô.
