Educação de Belo Jardim avança: Creche Mocinha Moura é entregue à população

A nova unidade homenageia a matriarca da família Moura, Josefa Augusta de Lima, conhecida como Mocinha Moura

A Prefeitura de Belo Jardim inaugurou, nessa sexta-feira (13), a Creche Mocinha Moura – Tipo I, localizada no bairro Bom Conselho. A unidade presta uma justa homenagem a Josefa Augusta de Lima, a “Mocinha Moura”, matriarca da família Moura, reconhecida por suas contribuições ao desenvolvimento de Belo Jardim.

A entrega contou com a presença do prefeito Gilvandro Estrela; do deputado federal Mendonça Filho; vereadores; secretária de Educação, Esportes e Tecnologia, Carmen Peixoto; Padre Alan; outros secretários municipais; servidores e moradores do bairro do Bom Conselho.

Com uma área construída de 1.317,99 m², a Creche Mocinha Moura é um marco na infraestrutura educacional da cidade. O espaço conta com 10 salas de aula, lactário, fraldário, cozinha, refeitório, playground, brinquedoteca e até uma área para cultivo de hortaliças. O investimento, superior a R$ 3 milhões, foi realizado com recursos próprios, demonstrando o compromisso da gestão municipal com a educação das crianças belo-jardinenses.

“Como professora dessa creche, estou muito feliz. Após 12 anos, voltamos ao mesmo local em que funcionava a antiga creche, mas agora com uma estrutura totalmente renovada. É algo de outro mundo. Estamos muito felizes com esse grande avanço,” disse a professora Martha Verônica.

Sobre a Homenageada

Josefa Augusta de Lima, a “Mocinha Moura”, nasceu em 18 de maio de 1907, no sítio Santa Rosa, em Brejo da Madre de Deus. Foi a caçula de suas irmãs, o que lhe rendeu o apelido carinhoso de “Mocinha”. Em 1912, sua família mudou-se para Belo Jardim, onde seu pai contratou professores particulares para a educação das filhas. Apesar das limitações da época, Mocinha teve acesso a uma formação ampla e diversificada, enriquecendo a educação feminina da sua geração.

Ao longo de sua vida, destacou-se como exemplo de determinação e dedicação, valores que permanecem como legado para sua família e a comunidade.

A nova creche, fruto de uma parceria com o Instituto Conceição Moura, terá capacidade para atender cerca de 350 crianças, oferecendo um ambiente seguro, moderno e acolhedor para as famílias da região.

“Ainda quando fui ministro da Educação, tive a honra de destinar recursos para tornar essa obra possível. Infelizmente, ela foi paralisada por problemas na gestão anterior e só pôde ser concluída agora, graças à dedicação e compromisso da gestão do prefeito Gilvandro Estrela, que investiu recursos municipais para finalizar e entregar essa importante unidade educacional para os belo-jardinenses,” destacou o deputado federal Mendonça Filho.

“Hoje é um dia de muita alegria. Entregamos a Creche Mocinha Moura, um sonho realizado que permitirá cuidar das nossas crianças com a qualidade que elas merecem,” comemorou o prefeito Gilvandro Estrela.

“A educação de Belo Jardim não para de avançar. Essa nova creche será fundamental para muitas famílias que agora terão um local seguro para deixar seus filhos,” ressaltou a secretária de Educação, Esportes e Tecnologia, Carmen Peixoto.

Finalizando a inauguração, o Padre Alan realizou a benção sobre a creche com água benta e sobre a população presente na inauguração.

    A dangerous encounter with a territorial bison and the subsequent viral video were not what Rebecca Clark had in mind when she set out for Caprock Canyons State Park in early October 2022.

    She had been so enamored with Texas’ third-largest state park on her first solo hiking and camping trip there a year earlier that she decided to go back for more. Roughly two hours by car from either Lubbock or the Panhandle city of Amarillo, Caprock attracts visitors with big blue skies, brown and green prairielands and rugged red-rock formations.

    Caprock has another draw – its wild bison herd, about 350 strong in late 2022. But bison, the great symbolic animal of the Great Plains, weren’t on her radar. Until suddenly, they were.

    The Texas resident recounted her experience with CNN’s Ed Lavandera, telling him that she came upon a herd while she was walking a trail back from Lake Theo.

    “I decided to just kind of wait for them to … get across the trail, and then I would pass them.” But they weren’t moving away fast enough for Clark. She said she decided to just walk by them – closer than the recommended safety distance. She was recording the moment on her smartphone.

    In her video, Clark can be heard saying, “Thank you, I appreciate it” as she passes the animals.

    Things got dangerous very quickly when one of the agitated bison took notice. “When I saw him turn, it’s like instantly I knew he was gonna come after me.”

    And that’s exactly what the bison did. Once it charged, the large mammal was upon Clark within two seconds despite her frantic attempt to flee.

    “It was so fast. He hit me in the back, rammed me, hooked me, then flipped me up and face forward into the mesquite bush.”

    And there was Clark. Gored, bleeding and alone. How would she survive?

    On their first flight together, Joel Atkinson and Shelley Atkinson couldn’t contain their excitement. They enthused to the flight attendants. They posed for photos. They told passengers via a pre-flight announcement.

    “We made a big deal about it,” Joel tells CNN Travel.

    Then, right before take off, Joel and Shelley sat side by side in the flight deck, just the two of them. They’d come full circle, and were about to embark on an exciting new chapter.

    “It felt amazing,” Shelley tells CNN Travel.

    “As we prepared to take off, I was giddy, euphoric,” says Joel.

    Joel and Shelley met as twentysomethings flying jets in the US Air Force. They became fast friends, then, over time, fell in love.

    Today, they’ve been married for 27 years and counting. They’ve brought up two kids together. And now they’re both pilots for Southwest Airlines. They regularly fly together, with Joel as captain and Shelley as first officer.

    The couple say working together is “amazing.” They treat layovers as “date nights.” They learn from one another’s respective “wisdom and judgment.”

    And no, they don’t argue mid-flight.

    “People ask us, how does it work, flying together?” says Joel. “We know a few pilot couples and some of them fly together, some of them don’t. I’ve heard people say, ‘Oh I could never fly with my wife or my husband.’”

    For Joel and Shelley, working together is seamless – a joy that comes easily to them both.

    “We’re best friends,” says Shelley.

    “There’s just that unspoken bond,” says Joel.
