O deputado federal Lula da Fonte (PP-PE), autor de quatro projetos de lei em defesa dos direitos dos animais, reuniu-se em Brasília com o deputado federal Bruno Lima (PP-SP) para discutirem iniciativas e projetos voltados para o bem-estar animal. Ambos os parlamentares têm a proteção e o cuidado com os animais como uma das principais bandeiras de seus mandatos.
“Foi uma oportunidade importante para trocarmos experiências e discutirmos novas estratégias para ampliar as políticas de proteção animal no Brasil. Estamos unindo forças para garantir que o bem-estar dos animais receba a atenção necessária no Congresso e em todo o país”, disse o deputado federal Lula da Fonte.
Entre os projetos defendidos por Lula da Fonte estão o PL 1620/2024, que estabelece as condições gerais para o transporte de cães e gatos; o PL 1059/2024, que inclui nas escolas disciplina sobre o bem-estar animal; o PL 223/2023, que institui a possibilidade das entidades de defesa animal serem qualificadas como Organização Social ou Organização da Sociedade Civil de interesse público e o PL 246/2023, que altera a legislação do IRPF para permitir a dedução das despesas com médicos, clínicas e hospitais veterinários.
Além dos projetos, o parlamentar anunciou em outubro deste ano, a destinação de recursos para a aquisição de um Samu Animal para o município de Caruaru, em Pernambuco.
“Os políticos brasileiros precisam dar mais atenção à causa animal, entendendo que cuidar dos animais é, na verdade, cuidar da saúde pública. É fundamental estarmos atentos às demandas relacionadas a essa questão, e, no meu mandato, essa é uma das minhas principais prioridades”, ressaltou Lula da Fonte.
