Compesa troca tubulações antigas na Avenida Caxangá para melhorar o abastecimento no Cordeiro e Zumbi

A ação está sendo realizada no período noturno para reduzir impacto no trânsito. 

Moradores de parte dos bairros do Cordeiro e Zumbi, na Zona Oeste do Recife, serão beneficiados a partir do próximo mês com uma melhoria no abastecimento de água. Equipes da Compesa estão executando uma obra na Avenida Caxangá, no cruzamento entre as ruas Souza Bandeira e Estevão da Costa, para substituir a rede antiga do local por tubos PEAD, um material mais resistente, durável e seguro. A troca dessa tubulação visa reduzir vazamentos e melhorar as pressões nas áreas dos dois bairros, o que vai resultar em mais água nas torneiras para 16 mil pessoas. Já foram executados mais de 60% dos serviços planejados para a intervenção, que deve ser finalizada até o final deste mês.

A execução da obra compreende um trecho de cerca de 300 metros da Avenida Caxangá. As atividades ocorrem sempre no período noturno, de segunda a sexta-feira, das 22h às 05h, para reduzir o impacto das intervenções no trânsito, que é intenso na área. O diretor Regional Metropolitano da Compesa, Flávio Coutinho, explicou que o abastecimento nessa região, que é diário, vai continuar, porém com melhores pressões na rede. “A obra está sendo bastante esperada pela população que reside próximo à Av. Caxangá, especialmente entre as ruas Costa Maia e Visconde de Uruguai, que enfrentam baixa pressão. Os moradores seguirão com água todos os dias, mas chegando mais forte nas torneiras”, destacou.

A intervenção está incluída no pacote de ações da Compesa voltado ao combate das perdas de água e na otimização do abastecimento na capital pernambucana, um investimento de R$ 50 milhões ao longo dos cinco anos de contrato. A operação preventiva focada em detectar e solucionar vazamentos ocultos (aqueles em que a água não aflora na via) também visa à modernização das redes de distribuição de água. Dentre as ações, já foi iniciada a substituição de redes antigas e, até outubro de 2026, serão substituídos 16 km de tubulações que vêm prejudicando o fornecimento de água de vários bairros da cidade. Quando essas ações forem finalizadas, a Compesa vai melhorar o abastecimento dos 41 bairros do Recife.
