Em Harvard, governadora Raquel Lyra debate políticas públicas e educação com estudantes de várias universidades dos Estados Unidos

No primeiro dia da Brazil Conference 2024, que acontece em Boston, nos EUA, a governadora Raquel Lyra debateu políticas públicas com um grupo de estudantes brasileiros da Universidade de Harvard e outras instituições americanas. Durante o encontro, neste sábado (6), a gestora falou da sua trajetória na vida pública, desafios da gestão, áreas prioritárias e resultados do Governo do Estado.

“Estamos fazendo o maior investimento da história na rede pública de ensino do estado de Pernambuco, aportando R$ 5,5 bilhões para o Juntos pela Educação. Um orçamento já assegurado para promover a mudança e a melhoria na educação dos jovens pernambucanos. E hoje tive a oportunidade de realizar essa troca com universitários, assim como membros da Fundação Leman, para discutir os desafios e as soluções para este tema que é prioridade na nossa gestão”, detalhou Raquel Lyra.

O bate-papo foi mediado pela integrante da Comunidade Brasil on Campus Fundação Lemann, Susane Santos. “Quero agradecer à governadora por esse momento incrível de troca. Me senti inspirada enquanto mulher e pessoa que pensa em políticas públicas de impacto para o Brasil. Conversamos sobre ações efetivas e técnicas, que aplicadas na prática conseguem trazer bem-estar para a população”, afirmou Susane.

A organização filantrópica atua para promover o acesso à educação aos jovens. Em paralelo à programação da Brazil Conference, a governadora ainda esteve reunida com o presidente do Google Brasil, Fábio Coelho, a diretora de Políticas Públicas para as Américas, Alexandra Veitch e a gerente de políticas públicas do Google para o Brasil, Alana Rizzo. Em pauta neste encontro, a possibilidade de futuras parcerias nas áreas de inovação e educação em Pernambuco.

Estiveram presentes os secretários Rodolfo Costa Pinto (Comunicação), Fernando Holanda (Assessoria Especial e Relações Internacionais ) e Daniella Brito (executiva de Imprensa).
