Projeto de Eduardo da Fonte torna obrigatório teste do autismo pelo SUS em crianças entre 16 e 30 meses de vida

O deputado federal Eduardo da Fonte (PP/PE) apresentou um projeto de lei que propõe tornar obrigatória a realização do teste do Transtorno do Espectro Autista (TEA) pelo Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS) em crianças com idade entre 16 e 30 meses. O objetivo é proporcionar um diagnóstico precoce alinhado às melhores práticas internacionais de saúde na área do TEA, podendo reduzir os custos do SUS a longo prazo.

A proposta, protocolada diante do aumento da incidência do autismo no Brasil e no mundo, visa utilizar a chamada Escala M-CHAT (Modified Checklist for Autism in Toddlers), aprovada pela Sociedade Brasileira de Pediatria e reconhecida internacionalmente. Essa ferramenta consiste em 23 questões simples e eficazes, a serem respondidas pelos pais ou responsáveis durante consultas pediátricas, proporcionando benefícios para o desenvolvimento infantil e o bem-estar familiar.

Segundo Eduardo da Fonte, a medida visa promover o bem-estar infantil, apoiar as famílias e otimizar os recursos do sistema de saúde. Além disso, colocará o Brasil na vanguarda do tratamento do TEA, garantindo que crianças com risco de desenvolver o transtorno sejam identificadas precocemente e recebam o suporte necessário desde cedo, maximizando suas potencialidades e qualidade de vida.
