O desafio da sucessão 

A disputa política é bastante salutar, em especial a alternância de poder que faz parte da democracia. Mas recentemente as circunstâncias possibilitaram a eleição de sucessores em diversos cenários, João Paulo elegeu João da Costa em 2008, Paulo Câmara elegeu-se sucedendo Eduardo Campos, Lula elegeu Dilma Rousseff e assim sucessivamente. Ainda há o detalhe do Recife, quando Eduardo conseguiu emplacar Geraldo Júlio na capital, este por sua vez conseguiu eleger o sucessor que foi João Campos em 2020.

Eleger o sucessor é demonstração de força política, mas nem sempre significa manutenção da aliança entre antecessor e sucessor. Além da briga de João Paulo e João da Costa no Recife, Lula Cabral e Vado da Farmácia também não se entenderam no Cabo de Santo Agostinho. São raros os casos em que aliados de outrora permanecem juntos com a mudança de titularidade no cargo.

Na metropolitana, há pelo menos dois casos em que as prefeitas já reeleitas tentarão eleger seus sucessores: Ipojuca em que Célia Sales terá a incumbência de emplacar um nome aliado, e Camaragibe a prefeita Nadegi Queiroz também terá a mesma missão. Há quem afirme não ser interessante operacionalizar a eleição do sucessor porque fica cara politicamente e também financeiramente, sem qualquer garantia da manutenção da aliança. Esse é o grande dilema, pois além de tentar terceirizar seu capital político, os detentores de mandato não têm segurança de que continuarão tendo algum tipo de influência nas gestões que lhe sucedem, as vezes preferindo entregar para a oposição e manter a liderança dentro do seu grupo político.

Paulo Câmara – O presidente do Banco do Nordeste, Paulo Câmara, tem sido bastante solícito com as demandas apresentadas pelo empresariado pernambucano na captação de recursos junto ao banco. Ao receber das demandas, Paulo encaminha para o setor responsável, que ficará com a incumbência de identificar os termos da concessão do financiamento, que visa fomentar o desenvolvimento dos nove estados nordestinos e regiões do Espírito Santo e Minas Gerais.

Excelência – O Recife recebeu mais uma avaliação positiva em relação ao comportamento das contas públicas municipais. De acordo com o Índice Firjan de Gestão Fiscal (IFGF), a capital pernambucana aparece em 6º lugar no ranking de melhor gestão entre todas as capitais do Brasil em 2022. A posição representa um salto de nove posições no comparativo com 2021, quando apareceu em 15º.
